Suet cakes attracts an array of birds such as robins, finches, wrens, sparrows, dunnocks, starlings, siskins, nuthatches and tits.

For some reason, the Robins in our garden seem to love the 'Blue Tit' variety of suet slab/cake.

Although we do put them up in haging feeders, the Robins and soon along to pick up the bits that other birds drop to the ground.

We now put chunks that we have broken off a slab on purpose, into ground feeder that we have position in the main roots of a shrub, that the Robins visit alone.

We recently tried some suet cake/slab from a High Street hop that rhymes with Milko, and ended up throwing it away, as all the birds in our garden appreared to refuse to eat it....................whereas, the Dawn Chorus ones are feasted upon with great intent.

Food itself was fine, but the black plastic trays were all broken on delivery. Had to pick little pieces of plastic out of the blocks before they went in the feeders.
Didn't used to happen when clear plastic trays were used.
